The International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport is delighted to announce that registrations for the postponed 8th IWG World Conference on Women & Sport re-opened at 3pm NZT, Tuesday 8 March 2022!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As the world continues to mark UN International Women\u2019s Day, IWG has launched a brand new IWG World Conference Hub<\/a> including a first draft \u201cProgramme-at-a-Glance\u201d, plus early session information and new details about how IWG New Zealand is putting the whole experience together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the launch of its global campaign, \u201cChange Inspires Change\u201d<\/a> in 2020, IWG New Zealand has further developed the programme, weaving in the tikanga (practices) and culture of the indigenous people to Aotearoa New Zealand. When you visit the new Conference Hub,<\/a> you will learn more about Te Huihuinga o Matariki (the assembly of Matariki) and how it will guide us on our conference journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IWG Co-Chair Raewyn Lovett ONZM commented \u201cThe IWG World Conference is going to be a fantastic moment for our global community of action to connect, collaborate and create both in person and online. More than 220+ sessions are confirmed and almost 500+ presenters are scheduled to present from all over the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fantastic news is that we are now expecting a full international delegation in November, after the New Zealand government began a phased re-opening international borders last week. By July, anyone from a visa waiver country will be able to enter and by October, the rest of the world can join them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The IWG World Conference will take place in Aotearoa New Zealand and Online between 14 \u2013 17 November 2022. Participants can book the Inspire Pass<\/strong> virtual-only experience or the InspirePLUS Pass<\/strong> for the hybrid in person and virtual experience. Both Passes are on-sale today and group passes will be available soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

The International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport is the largest network in the world dedicated to achieving gender equality in sport and physical activity. The IWG World Conference is the largest gathering in the world to advance gender equity and equality in sport and physical activity, attracting over 1,200+ leaders quadrennially. Every four years since 1994, the IWG Secretariat & World Conference has moved to a new host nation. Aotearoa New Zealand is hosting it between 2018 \u2013 2022, with Women in Sport Aotearoa, Ng\u0101 W\u0101hine H\u0101kinakina o Aotearoa as official delivery agent.
