{"id":7069,"date":"2024-05-14T21:41:28","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T11:41:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iwgwomenandsport.org\/?p=7069"},"modified":"2025-03-04T01:56:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T14:56:07","slug":"iwg-is-delighted-to-announce-the-recipients-of-the-anita-white-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.iwgwomenandsport.org\/es\/iwg-is-delighted-to-announce-the-recipients-of-the-anita-white-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"IWG is delighted to announce the recipients of the Anita White Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The International Working Group (IWG) on Women and Sport is delighted to announce the 18 recipients of the Anita White Fund, which aims to support female leaders in sport around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The Anita White Fund is a legacy of the Anita White Foundation and consists of two sets of awards &#8211; The Anita White Catalyst Grant and The Cath Sweet Award \u2013 established to honour Dr Anita White OBE and the late Cath Sweet, two leading figures in the women and sport movement who collaborated on a number of international sport development projects.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pwun7aihNno\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lisa O\u2019Keefe, Secretary General of the IWG, said: \u201cIt has been an absolute pleasure to launch the Anita White Fund and to receive so many brilliant and inspiring applications from all around the world. This is the first time the IWG has offered financial support to advance gender equality, and it is fitting we can do this as part of our Pearl Anniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received 139 applications for funding from 53 different countries which was humbling, and I know the panel had some tough decisions to make in deciding upon the recipients. I\u2019m delighted to say the Anita White Fund will support 18 projects in 14 different countries and will undoubtedly make an impact in progressing gender equality in sport in the respective communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to reiterate my thanks to Anita White, Cath Sweet\u2019s family, UK Sport and Professor Elizabeth Pike from the University of Hertfordshire for administering the awards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mike Sweet said: \u201cAll the recipients of The Cath Sweet Award intend to use sport to promote social inclusion, leadership, education and mental wellbeing for women and children across low-income countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the work Cath was involved in, we know that incredible things can be achieved from small grant programmes and the projects selected will allow the IWG to directly reach grass-roots level and help individuals make changes on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr Anita White OBE said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted to see the Anita White Fund supporting some truly excellent projects led by female sports leaders from across the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of the things we learned from the Anita White Foundation&#8217;s Catalyst Grant Programme was that a relatively small investment could enable women leaders and activists to have a big impact on the lives of women and girls in their communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank the panel for their time, efforts and diligence throughout the selection process and I look forward to following the progress of the projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The Anita White Fund Recipients<\/h2>\n<p>Below is a list of the projects which have received funding from the Anita White Fund. la bourse Catalyseur Anita White et le prix Cath Sweet &#8211; cr\u00e9\u00e9s pour honorer la Dre Anita White OBE et la regrett\u00e9e Cath Sweet, deux figures de proue du mouvement des femmes et du sport qui ont collabor\u00e9 \u00e0 un certain nombre de projets internationaux de d\u00e9veloppement du sport.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa O\u2019Keefe, secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019IWG, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Ce fut un plaisir absolu de lancer le Fonds Anita White et de recevoir tant de candidatures brillantes et inspirantes du monde entier. Anita White OBE y a la difunta Cath Sweet, dos figuras destacadas en el movimiento femenino y el deporte que colaboraron en una serie de proyectos internacionales de desarrollo deportivo.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa O&#8217;Keefe, Secretaria General del IWG, dijo: &#8220;Ha sido un placer absoluto lanzar el Fondo Anita White y recibir tantas solicitudes brillantes e inspiradoras de todo el mundo.
